Hi there, I’m
Afsaneh Bababak

🎓 BSc Computer Science student at ETH Zürich

About me

I’m currently a student in the final year of my Computer Science Bachelor’s studies at ETH Zurich, I passed ETH’s competitive entrance exam after a full year of preparation, and ever since, I’ve been immersing myself in the core foundations of computer science, from algorithms and data structures, to systems programming, compiler design, networks, and formal methods. Alongside these, I’ve also explored areas I’m deeply passionate about, like machine learning, deep learning, and visual computing, where I get to combine my love of mathematics with real-world data and see abstract theory come alive through models and applications.

My experience isn’t just academic. I’ve worked on a wide range of challenging, hands-on projects: building a compiler from scratch in OCaml, simulating real-world network topologies with BGP and SCION, designing a user-centered mobile app using React Native, and analyzing football data for predictive modeling.
Outside of academics, I’m a former mathematics tutor, an active athlete, and someone who believes in constantly improving: physically, mentally, technically. Whether I’m running, coding, or learning a new concept, I’m usually doing it with full focus and curiosity. What defines me most is how I work. I’m a structured thinker, highly self-motivated, and someone who truly enjoys the process of learning, not just the outcome. I love to solve hard problems, design clean systems, and continuously challenge myself to grow and learn through exciting new projects.
